FROM THE DIRECTOR

WELCOME! from the Director

Hi All! Thank you for supporting Freedom Write Inc! I founded this organisation when I was living in Kenya in 2011, to help some incredible, talented, bright yet very unsupported and
under-encouraged people. 
 
For four years Kenyan students have been writing letters to Australians to make a friend on the other side of the world, learn new culture, practice their English and be encouraged through the extraordinary challenges and pressures of completing high school.

 I'm proud to say that the Australian volunteers have gained just as much inspiration.
 We have now spread to England with this part of the program and are growing with each round of letters.

We have also launched 6 new phases and branches of Freedom Write, one of those being Freedom Art! This program will generate funds to support students who are actively engaged in community development, to pay school fees our (SEED Program). It will also provide opportunities for students to be trained in Income Generating Activities, foster creative expression and so much more! Have a look at our Programs page for full details!

 This beautiful group is evolving, growing and developing each day. Our dreams are too. There are more and more schools wanting to join
  the program across Africa, and so many
  Australians (plus schools and organisations) who want to be involved... 
 
We aim to be sustainable in supporting these students to reach their highest potential and we so look forward to journeying through that process...  to be a light, a smile, a little piece of freedom...

FREEDOM WRITE INC. CREATE CHANGE KENYA!
GO FUND ME CAMPAIGN!

Jade Louise, the Director is Freedom Write has just spent 4 months on the ground in Kenya!! The aim for this trip, as an organisation dedicated to creating sustainable change, was to address our objectives and put our resources, manpower and raised money to the best possible use!
We had a set of goals to reach in order to see our vision and missions come to pass and to fully implement our 5 new programs in Kisumu District.

Thank you to those who donated towards our registration fees and implementation costs that made these goals a reality!!

It is wonderful to report that all 6 programs are now 100% operational, and being run by an incredible local team, coordinating with the Australian team. Our programs are designed to be fully sustainable, but during initial periods, every cent of support goes a mile towards our aims of connecting African villages with friendship, respect, education and empowerment, towards poverty relief!

We have created a campaign on GoFundMe.com where you can donate any amount you like towards our mission in Kenya. Feel free to specify to which aspect of Freedom Write you wish your donation to go.

Donate $50 or above and you will receive gifts from Freedom Art- which contribute directly to school fee relief for rural Kenyan students.

Change takes time. It takes courage, commitment, dedication, heart and investment. Be part of that with us.

CRUISE FOR KENYA!

Join us in a true celebration of Africa at our annual fundraiser 2015!

TICKETS: $55  (18+)

Freedom Write Inc. connects rural African villages with friendship, respect, education and empowerment towards poverty relief. On April 24, aboard the Lady Cutler Showboat, we want to connected Melbourne with our cause in an incredible celebration of African culture!

There was food, music, culture and more on this 3.5hour cruise from the Docklands to Williamstown, St Kilda and back, on board a beautiful ex-Sydney Ferry with bars, dance floors, a stage, great outside decks and plenty of room to relax and take in the views.

More importantly it was the perfect chance to learn all about Freedom Write Inc.'s programs in Kenya and even to get involved! We have innovative, sustainable programs based around education, health, community development , life skills & cultural exchange that are already benefiting thousands in rural African villages.

The theme was AFRICA- people dressed up and won some great prizes :)
All of us at F.W.I are so passionate about our work and our mission- we loved  sharing that with you!
